There’s something magical about brewing your own coffee at home. But a truly great cup doesn’t happen by accident – it’s about technique, timing, and a little love. Here are Parcel No. 9’s top tips for making the perfect brew:
- Start with Fresh Beans – Coffee tastes best within 2–4 weeks of roasting. Always store your beans in an airtight container away from light and moisture.
- Grind Just Before Brewing – A fresh grind releases the full aroma and flavour. Match your grind size to your brewing method (fine for espresso, coarse for French press).
- Measure Your Coffee – Aim for 15–18 grams per cup for balanced flavour.
- Water Matters – Use filtered water heated to 92–96°C for optimal extraction.
- Don’t Rush the Process – Let the coffee bloom for a few seconds before brewing to release its natural oils.
Follow these steps and every cup you make will feel like it came straight from our café.
